With the Covid-19 outbreak the world, and with it the sporting world, as we know it, has been going through dramatic changes. Within just a few weeks from each other, almost all countries imposed quarantine, social distancing measures, closed their borders, schools and public gathering places. Many went into complete lock-down and sporting events from the grassroots level all the way up to the biggest tournaments in the world have been suspended until further notice. In light of these events, the SportWorks Podcast team has decided to do a special mini-series to showcase how SportWorkers and their activities were affected in different territories and domains. What challenges are they facing and what measures have they put in place to deal with this unprecedented situation?

As most of you, we are working from home now and cannot enjoy our studio facilities. Our hosts Sarah and Alexandra have been calling our guests remotely, from their homes. They have reached to different professionals from around the globe so you can hear how SportWorkers are doing in the current situation.

Episode EVENTS – Part I & Part II

The first episodes of our special series looks at how the postponement of major sporting events such as the Tokyo Olympic Games and the UEFA Euro 2020 has affected organisers and agencies. Sarah and Alexandra talked to Catherine Maher, UEFA EURO 2020 Project Manager from the Scottish FA (Part I) and Anna BAGROVA from Match Hospitality Russia (Part II).

They give interesting insights into how the postponement of the events has affected their lives as sports professionals.
