Guest biosJérôme Meyer – ISCF Head of Olympic CoordinationJérôme Meyer is a three-time Sport Climbing World Cup winner, European Champion and four-time French Champion. He has also successfully navigated some of the most difficult rock climbs around the world.Jérôme joined the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) in 2009. He is currently Head of Olympic Coordination and was formerly Sports Director. He played a key role in the sport being added to the programme of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018. While he competing he was also President of the IFSC Athletes’ Commission from its creation in 2004 to 2009, when he retired from competition following winning his European Championship title. Throughout his athletic career, Jérôme worked with a number of international sports climbing brands and was involved in the organisation of several competitions, while also writing for various magazines about the sport. While competing, Jérôme completed a MSc. in Management from the Ecole de Management de Lyon (France), which he obtained in 2008. Jérôme remains an outdoor enthusiast at heart, and believes that athletes’ skills are highly transferable in to work environment, therefore keeping those values as the leading elements when working on Climbing’s Olympic development.
Julien Debove – FIBA 3×3 Senior Communications ManagerAfter launching his own basketball magazine in his native France and working 5 years in communications at UEFA, Julien Debove joined FIBA in 2013 to help bring the new 3×3 basketball discipline from the streets to the Olympics. It took just 4 years. In charge of all things content from public relations to TV and social media, he’s responsible for making 3×3 one of the most talked-about new game in sports, watched on TV in more than 100 countries and number 1 on social media among all international sports federations in several categories. Debove lives in Bern, Switzerland, is married and the proud father of one. He enjoys mid-90’s hip-hop, fantasy sports, supports the Sacramento Kings and RC Lens and – when he doesn’t have a basketball in his hands – can usually be spotted shooting an imaginary ball when stepping on a basketball court.
