“Increase active mobility and recreation by bike.” – Isabella Burczak & Emma Pooley

SportWorks TALKS – #WomenInSport series

The bicycle has recently been highlighted as a key solution to the challenges of post-COVID-19 recovery, allowing more people to travel safely and efficiently around their cities. However, various barriers are often highlighted with regard to ensuring an increase in societal uptake. This TALK, with Isabella Burczak and Emma Pooley, examined the solutions and initiatives being developed by cities and organisations around the world to overcome them.

Isabella Burczak is currently the Advocacy Manager for the Union Cycliste Internationale, the world governing body for cycling.  Emma Pooley is currently Project Manager for #fastandfemaleSUI, a drive by Swiss Cycling to increase female participation in cycling. She is a former professional cyclist, world champion, and Olympic medallist.
