Sustainability in Sports: Walking the Talk, Local experiences – Alberto Agra

In 2015, the United Nations established The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Global Goals as a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”, with the intention to have all 17 accomplished by 2030.  Alberto Agra, President of the Obstacle Sports Federation Asia Pacific and Vice-President of the Asia Freerunning Parkour Union, believes that sports can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. And not just competitive sport, but what he describes as a holistic, broad, and purpose driven orientation toward sports. Agra comes to #SportWorksTALK to discuss the five P’s – people, planet, peace, prosperity, and partnership.

He also shares examples and experiences which are local to the Philippines and cites practical ways in which the SDGs can be realized. Join us for this illuminating discussion.
